Our client, a leader in Demand Side Platform Development, using cutting edge technology and real-time exchanges to give their clients superior control over their display ads has engaged ROSS to find a DevOps / System Administrator for this growing and profitable company. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation. This is a full time, permanent opportunity to serve as DevOps/System Admin for this growing team. Work with TALENTED software engineers who are primarily programming in Core Java. The Devops/System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, turning, operation and maintenance of Web based application and related infrastructure. 7X24 support required. Supporting Java application servers (ie - Tomcat, Jboss, Websphere or Weblogic) experience is a must. Our Technology Supports billions of transactions per day Distributed systems and data centers Big Data Implementation Our current environment is Linux, Apache, Java and MySQL and bigdata cluster Job Description Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all Web application and server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups Provide Tier I on-site and on-call support, investigate, troubleshoot and resolve issues Repair and recover from software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted users Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required Work with other support groups and vendor support to upgrade and configure system and related software as required Deploy application change and enhancement into production Provide regular operational support report/dashboard on overall system health (based on pre-determined metrics) Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures Assist in OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities Install and configure Java Application Server Deploy Java EE (J2EE) applications Configure Server cluster to support failover and load balancing for applications. Install, configure and manage Apache Web Server. Automate administration tasks as well as scheduling backup jobs. Patch, upgrade and troubleshoot environments. Monitor and report the healthiness and usage on these systems. Identify backup and recovery needs, develop backup strategies and procedures, perform trial recovery as required. Practical experience with Java Application Server (Websphere/Weblogic or tomcat/jboss admin) Performance Tuning Apache Web Server Linux or UNIX Ability to perform sql queries Familiar with JEE standards and concepts.
