Charge Nurse Neurosurgery & OMFS Join to apply for the Charge Nurse Neurosurgery & OMFS role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Overview This post requires working 12‑hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service in the Critical Care unit for neurosurgical, OMFS and interventional radiology patients. Responsibilities Lead 12‑hour shifts covering the 24/7 critical care service. Supervise, train and support the critical care nursing team, including clinical education and competency development. Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care plans, ensuring safe, patient‑centred and multidisciplinary care. Manage nursing workforce, optimise absence management and rostering to meet activity requirements. Exercise advanced patient care knowledge, providing high‑quality patient experience and ensuring safe, patient‑centred care. Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engaging patients and families in care decisions. Support the Senior Charge Nurse in strategic leadership, quality improvement and service planning. Qualifications Registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ expert experience within a critical care environment. Strong leadership skills and experience in critical care nursing. Demonstrated commitment to patient‑centred care, continuing professional development and patient safety. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced 24/7 service. Excellent communication, organisational and staff‑management skills.
