Our Smithers division in BC is currently recruiting for a full-time Planning Forester.You'll Do:Designing roads and cut blocksAdministrating and supervising contracts (layout, cruising, and site assessments)Liaising with the Government and Indigenous PeoplesConsulting stakeholdersIncorporating social and cultural values into harvest area designsPreparing and submitting appraisals and cutting/road permit applicationsDeveloping Site PlansYou have:A degree or diploma in forestry, along with registration or eligibility for registration with Forest Professionals BC.Relevant experience in planning activities such as cruising, block layout, and site plan preparation is preferred.Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Familiarity with ArcGIS and information management systems would be considered an asset.Knowledge of the appraisal system and timber cruising processes would be considered an asset.A current class 5 driver’s licence.What We Offer:Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity.
