OverviewThe OpportunityWe are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Occupational Therapy Aide to support our Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality care to residents. In this role, you will assist with the implementation of therapy care plans, provide hands-on support in therapy sessions, and play a critical role in maintaining and modifying adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers.You will be responsible for preparing therapy spaces, monitoring resident participation, ensuring infection control practices are followed, and managing equipment inventory. Your technical skills and empathetic nature will help residents reach their highest level of independence and functionality.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Occupational Therapist in therapy sessions and interventionsMonitor resident engagement and report changes or concernsModify, repair, and adjust mobility and therapeutic equipment as neededMaintain and organize therapy equipment and suppliesEnsure all equipment and treatment areas meet infection control standardsDistribute adaptive devices as required for resident careCollect and manage data using internal software systemsContribute to interdisciplinary communication and information sharingQualificationsCompletion of a Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma (required)Post-secondary education is an assetFluent in English (oral and written)Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse resident populationPrior experience in continuing care or gerontology (preferred)Mechanical aptitude for equipment adjustments and repairsCommitment to compassionate, client-centered careAbout UsFor over 25 years, AgeCare has been dedicated to creating vibrant and supportive communities, providing high-quality care and fostering meaningful connections.
