As an Environmental Coordinator working in the Operational Support team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the project teams in ensuring environmental and contractual compliance of our projects. Supporting large-scale building, civil and infrastructure projects – ranging from $ million to upwards of $1 billion – you will have the opportunity provide guidance, support and assistance to ensure legislative compliance. Please note that this role is based at a remote project site close to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working within this environment.What You Will Do
  1. Prepare, validate and implement environmental plans in conjunction with the Project Teams (Environmental Protection Plan, Erosion Control Plan, Waste Management Plan, Contaminated Soil Management Plan, etc.).
  2. Provide advice and expertise to the Project Team on various environmental issues associated projects, including but not limited to, Water Quality, Sensitive Environments, Contaminated soils, etc.
  3. Cooperate and assist professionals and the Project Team in meeting the certification objectives and target point requirements.
  4. Verify subcontractors' contractual obligations and the accuracy of their work as it relates to environmental requirements.
  5. Conduct regular construction site visits to ensure environmental compliance of construction work and complete monitoring reports in Procore.
  6. Maintain environmental performance indicators (non-conformities, spills, residual materials, best practices, etc.) li>
  7. Report any apparent deviations from requirements that may affect environmental and the certification obligations to the Project Team as soon as possible and assist with regulatory reporting as required.
  8. Find proactive solutions to maintain environmental compliance, to meet the requirements and commitments of the certification process, as well as the objectives of the Project.
  9. Work with the Project Team to develop construction methodologies that minimize environmental impacts.
  10. Conduct sampling as required for construction sites, including water, soil, or air.
  11. Educate and provide training to workers and the Project Team on environmental matters as an expert in the field.
This role could be for you if you have:
