Consider joining a team where diversity, inclusion and innovation are valued and supported.Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for leading the development of the provincial Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.Role ResponsibilitiesThe Project Coordinator will work closely with client representatives from Alberta Education as well as the school divisions throughout all aspects of the development and implementation of learning facility capital projects and will be critical to the planning, design, construction, building commissioning, and warranty period for each approval capital project.Coordinating reviews and submittals to in-house resources, bridging consultants, independent advisors, cities and municipalities, and external stakeholders.Establishing and maintaining a complex document management system for the project team, both manually and electronically within SharePoint.Providing reports and briefings to the Senior Project Manager to update project status, provide cash flow updates and cost information.Performing frequent inspections of work area and site documentation to ensure all policies and procedures are being followed and all work is carried out as per quality time and safety regulations/specifications.Ensuring as-builts and Operational and Maintenance manuals received from consultants are recorded and entered into project management tracking system.Supporting all aspects of furniture/equipment moves including the coordination of contractors and school board owners, if required by the Project Director or Project Manager.The Successful Candidate Will HaveConsiderable interpersonal skills for clear communication with school jurisdictions, client ministries, consultants, and contractors within a team concept.Leadership and negotiation skills.APS CompetenciesCompetencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans.Creative Problem Solving – Focuses on continuous improvement and increasing breadth of insightSystems Thinking – Takes a long-term view towards organization’s objectives and how to achieve themAgility – Works in a changing environment and takes initiative to changeDevelop Networks – Leverages relationships to build input and perspectiveBuild Collaborative Environments – Facilitates open communication and leverages team skillQualificationsMinimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.Two-year diploma in Engineering or related discipline PLUS 6 years of related experienceEquivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or1 year of experience for 1 year of educationAssetsCertified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designationKnowledge of Public-Private Partnerships (P3) procurement in AlbertaKnowledge of School Capital Manual and Education ActKnowledge of Disposition of Property RegulationKnowledge of the Closure of Schools Regulation and Charter Schools RegulationKnowledge of Contract Review Committee Mandate and Guidelines for the Acceptance of BidsKnowledge of bidding and construction legislation and practicesFamiliarity with the Municipal Government ActFamiliarity with program requirements for learning facilitiesWe thank all applicants for their interest.
