Our focus is on excellence and accomplishment.Ocean Capital has an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Generalist at our Saint John office. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, be assigned to support special projects and tasks as required, and provide direction, service, support and advice to senior leadership, managers and employees. This role will be proactive in promoting human resources best practices, policies and procedures and work closely with key businesses’ specific HR operational needs.This is an exceptional opportunity for the right person who is interested in preparing the organization for the future, modernizing HR practices and a challenging and rewarding work environment. Other responsibilities include:Strategic People Initiatives: Participate in the implementation of strategic people initiatives including policy and process improvement, succession planning and talent management.Partner with Senior Leadership: Partner with senior leadership on complex initiatives such as succession planning, organizational plans and philosophy, setting the stage for strategic growth.Legal and Tax Compliance: Analyze and provide recommendations on complex employee situations including working in other countries, contract management and employee support.Mergers and Acquisitions: Support the HR due diligence process for acquisitions, provide guidance on best practice, and support implementation requirements where appropriate.Supporting the Business with Analytics: Partner with the business to provide key insights and action supported by people measures and analytics; critically analyze the impact of HR practices on the business and how to measure success.Recruitment: Manage a unique candidate experience in the recruitment process for select positions while building a pipeline for talent.Employee Relations: Work with senior leadership, managers and employees in day‑to‑day circumstances that require HR leadership.Required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilitiesStrong problem‑solving ability and curiosityA passion for HR with a clear understanding of its role within a company’s strategyExceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbalSound research and business analytic skillsAbility to prioritize deliverables and work independently or within a teamUnderstands and appreciates the need for confidentialityExpert knowledge of MS Office and PowerPointPrevious experience with an HRIS systemThe successful candidate will have the right blend of education and experience, which may include an undergraduate degree, 7+ years’ experience in Human Resources, and a CPHR designationJob detailsSeniority level: Mid‑Senior levelEmployment type: Full‑timeJob function: Strategy/Planning and Human ResourcesIndustries: Investment ManagementReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Ocean Capital by 2xGet notified about new Human Resources Generalist jobs in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada #J-18808-Ljbffr
