OverviewDescriptionLead the implementation and management of risk management services per the mission and goals of projects and programs from inception through to completion.Office-basedResponsibilitiesEnsure that work is fully supported from a consulting standpoint in an integrated compliant efficient and cost-effective mannerFinalize the budget and operating or delivery plan for the risk management services in consultation with the project or program team and clientProvide the final review and approval of the completed material planning to successfully deliver risk management servicesExercise authority in managing and owning the work and controlling the delivery of the project portfolio per project plansResponsible for the overall direction of a large consulting team (may consist of multi-firm resources and client resources) leveraging a diverse array of talents and delegation of responsibilitiesDesign key goals to be met in risk management services including customer satisfaction and team member performancesDefine the success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycleInterface between stakeholders at all levels of the engagement modelReview changes and interventions to ensure risk management service goals are achieved on the project or programFacilitate various project focus or function meetings with a spotlight on service initiativesPlan for and meet with stakeholders (including senior management and sponsors) to streamline transparent project communicationsDirect the production of accurate and timely reporting of project or program status and performance throughout its life cycleControl the delivery of and adherence to the operating or delivery plan scope schedule milestones budgets and KPIs on the project and address issues with corrective actions as appropriateFinalize and sign off on progress reports proposals and presentations to various audiences including team client executives and key stakeholdersManage scope change negotiationsEvaluate project effectiveness on the project or program and identify areas for improvementSet and interpret service expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team membersBuild and maintain a positive high-performing team culture with an openness to constructive challenge continuous improvement implementation of lessons learned and an overall right-first-time mindsetReinforce acceptable standards of workmanship through every stage of the projectSupervise and guide clear and focused staff performance objectives (including non-company resources) to ensure excellence in resultsPromote a project environment that is inclusive and diverse and celebrates our differencesClarify internal quality control check and resolve quality issues for the projectPrepare procedures and work instructions and ensure that all program team members comply with the risk management plan procedures and requirements of the assigned scope of workDevelop risk breakdown structure aligned with project WBS and CBSPrepare risk training materials and train the project team on the principles of riskStay abreast of market trends and implement process improvements or efficienciesLead and provide technical support to the management of risk through the facilitation of regular risk reviewsEvaluate risk registers at the project and program level ensuring quality standards are metPerform quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis using Risk Management software (e.g. Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis Acumen Risk etc.) and provide the interpretation of results (e.g. Distribution S Curve Graph Sensitivity Analysis Tornado Chart and Deep Dive Schedule Logic)Follow up with risk owners to ensure the mitigation actions are on track including escalation where requiredReview contractor progress reports and identify the risks impacting project cost and schedule and reflect them in the risk registerWork closely with scheduling to prepare a high-level schedule (or assess detailed schedules) to be used for quantitative schedule risk analysis and define the link between risks duration uncertainties and schedule activitiesLiaise with cost to monitor project contingency utilization and alignment with cost risk exposuresProvide technical guidance and training to members of the team appropriate to their area of accountabilityGuide reporting on inputs for project and program-level reportingRequirementsExperience : Minimum of 12 years of experience in Risk ManagementEducation : Bachelors degree in a relevant fieldLicenses OR Certifications : Holding recognized certifications including Risk Management Professional (RMP) and Project Management Professional (PMP)Skills and Competencies : Expert grasp of prevailing Risk Management methodsExtensive understanding of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performanceWell-versed and experienced in managing the interdependencies between technology operations and business needsMastery of risk management software including Active Risk Manager (ARM) Oracle Primavera Risk Analyzer (OPRA) Acumen Risk Primavera P6 Acumen Fuse MS Project etc.Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practicesProven success in providing leadership to project teams by building and motivating staff to meet project goals adhering to their responsibilities and project milestonesExceptional people skills and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of stakeholdersAbility to work autonomously and interface with a wide cross-section of personnelExperienced in leading engaging coaching and mentoring a team of Risk professional professionalsDemonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships within various teams partners and clientsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft OfficeMust maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies methods and best practicesAbility to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadershipKeen eye
