Reporting to Manager, Resource Protection Investigations, you will support the Resource Protection mandate to reduce criminal activity and to provide a safe work environment to LCBO staff and customers. Specifically, the position provides Resource Protection solutions to the LCBO. You will also provide internal and external criminal and civil investigative services as well as identify and implement proactive practices to minimize opportunities for criminal activity to occur thereby enhancing the protection of LCBO assets. You will Lead and organize internal and external investigations as directed and assigned by the Manager of Investigations while working in consultation with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with police agencies to exchange information in relation to criminal trends, intelligence, investigations and prosecutions. Determine and recommend the most effective and efficient placement of required security measures through site visits and security audits. Perform surveillance duties as directed and assigned by the Manager of Investigations. Prepare, organize, and facilitate Resource Protection focused presentations. Compile, prepare and present detailed reports and evidence packages, externally to police agencies and internally to LCBO legal and human resources teams. Attend both criminal and civil court cases and hearings on behalf of the LCBO. About You Requires demonstrated knowledge of investigative procedures, processes and practices obtained through investigative experience in a retail or policing environment. Minimum of 5–7 years relevant experience investigating organized crime groups and series, internal and workplace investigations, managing incident and intelligence reports. Experience conducting threat risk assessments. Experience with covert video technology installation. Experience explaining and discussing evidence, legislation, policies, and procedures relative to investigations and processes. Experience providing testimony in court and other hearings. Enhanced writing skills to prepare presentations, maintain and document investigations, and compile detailed reports. Demonstrated ability to maintain and build new relationships. A valid Ontario driver’s license is required; travel is required. A valid private investigators license is required. Applicants who do not currently possess one will be required to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
