Clinical Health Psychologist - Primary Care & Community Health Networks We currently have an exciting Full Time opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the team as a Clinical Health Psychologist for the Primary Care & Community Health Networks in Surrey, British Columbia. SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $59.10 - $73.81 / hour Responsibilities Leads the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, pathways, protocols and decision support tools for family practice patients. Provides training and is involved in training design to health coaches for the treatment of patients identified to be at risk for or in early stages of chronic disease, helping them make lifestyle, cognitive and behavioural modifications (e.g., physical activity, nutrition, stress management, sleep, medication adherence, emotional regulation, well‑being and problem solving). Provides ongoing clinical guidance and feedback to ensure treatment fidelity and to prevent drift in health coaches' interventions. Develops and oversees the delivery of group‑based treatment programs; evaluates the effectiveness and makes recommendations for program development. Provides assessment and short‑term specialized services to patients experiencing a high level of complex concerns. Coordinates with medical and mental health providers to ensure wrap‑around and comprehensive care for clients requiring higher‑level mental health assessment and treatment. Provides continuing education to providers, other health professionals and community organizations to increase capacity and understanding of behavioural and cognitive contributors to health outcomes. Liaises with referring providers and other professionals regarding clients' total care. Assists with the analysis of data in order to make necessary adjustments to guidelines and pathways. Attends and participates in multidisciplinary conferences, medical rounds, service and department meetings as required. Participates in clinical research and in program planning, evaluation and implementation. May supervise students as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Training and Experience • Ph.D. in Clinical or Counselling Psychology from a recognised educational institution.• Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.• Five (5) years recent related experience within primary care, chronic health or related experience in health psychology, behavioural change interventions, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy and/or cognitive behavioural therapy.• Demonstrated experience leading psychological interventions and consultations within an interprofessional team environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.• Valid BC driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for business‑related purposes. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of health psychology, behaviour‑change interventions and diagnostic assessments, as well as psychological treatment development and integrity maintenance. Ability to provide effective behavioural health treatment to people with various chronic health conditions. Ability to provide competency‑based guidance and consultation to interprofessional team members. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and contribute as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comprehensive written assessments. Knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to implement guidelines, decision support tools and protocols. Quality assurance, program evaluation and research skills. Leadership, teaching and mentoring abilities. Planning, implementation, organization and prioritization skills. Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
