You will be a key member of a dynamic group of lawyers, law clerks and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to our clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Disputes Commercial & Construction Group, within Canada’s premier full-service law firm.Key Responsibilities and SkillsWork with top-tier Disputes Commercial & Construction Group professionals that help clients navigate significant situationsPlay a critical role in assisting our lawyers with matters relating to all aspects of commercial, construction and estate litigationParticipate in drafting pleadings, document production, the discovery process, preparing motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, costs outlines and preparing for hearings and trials, preparing estate applications before the Court (such as Orders for Directions) and assisting with file management of large, complex mattersBe responsible for matter management and data management, including scoping and budgetingContribute as an important member of the team and provide an unwavering commitment to delivering excellent client serviceWork as a member of a collaborative team to mentor and share your knowledge with students, associates and junior law clerksKey Competencies10+ years’ experience in a Law Clerk role with a focus on commercial and construction litigationExperience preparing passing of accounts and/or estate administration is an assetStrong knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Civil ProcedureCollege Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks Ontario CertificateUniversity degree is an assetKnowledge of iManage, Case Center (formerly CaseLines), ACL, Relativity, Kofax PDF, Word, Excel and OutlookExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsInitiative and expertise to drive highly effective file management and seek direction when appropriateHigh level organization and time management skillsA strong work ethic with a collaborative and growth mindsetWhat can we offer you?A hybrid working environment with technology reimbursements to support digital workingCertification in Legal Project Management (LPM)Access to our market leading mentoring programA talent development framework that helps you develop your desired career path, including access to training and continued education opportunitiesExceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programsA competitive compensation and benefits package, access to wellness platforms and programs, and a day off to volunteer in your community #J-18808-Ljbffr
