Job Summary The Regina Area of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a dynamic and exceptional 0.75 FTE Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist to be part of our dynamic and expanding department. The Regina Pediatric Department includes Pediatricians, a Developmental Pediatrician, Pediatric Nephrologist, Pediatric Clinical Immunologist & Allergist, Neonatologists, Neonatal Clinical Assistants and a number of visiting Pediatric subspecialists. Children requiring PICU care are transferred to a provincial PICU in Saskatoon following stabilization. The Emergency Medicine Department physicians in Regina provide coverage for all shifts in an established rotation that averages 32 hours per week. Emergency services are provided 24/7 at two sites within Regina: Pasqua Hospital (218‑bed community facility) and Regina General Hospital (403 beds, trauma center for southern Saskatchewan). Both sites are fully supported with sub‑specialty coverage including 3 CT scanners and 2 MRIs. The successful candidate will provide ER services to pediatric patients and will be interested in a clinical and academic career to provide excellence in meeting the acute medical care needs of children and youth. The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Regina Area. Successful applicants will have an identified non‑clinical area of expertise (e.g., quality improvement, education) that they can bring to the group to further our University, Health Authority, and Provincial mandates. Relocation Package This position may qualify for the Emergency Medicine Recruitment and Retention Incentive of up to $200,000. Additionally, Emergency Medicine residents can access $30,000 bursaries in years 4 and 5 of residency (for a total of $60,000) by signing a Letter of Offer and committing to a two‑year Return of Service Agreement. Job Qualifications Successful candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates with Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship and/or experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Candidates will be eligible for regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan to practice in Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high‑volume environment with a commitment to provision of high‑quality patient and family‑centered care. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
