Job Description

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the warehousing division including but not limited to safety, efficiency and customer service. He/She is accountable to oversee the overall warehouse operation which receives and stores, moves and ships supplies, stock and materials to and/or from the warehouse. This also includes P&L responsibility as well as overseeing the Ordan building maintenance.

  • P&L responsibility
  • Budget responsibility
  • Overall safety and security of the warehousing operation
  • Manage human resource issues which include performance appraisals, handling disciplinary issues and managing the staffing levels to ensure customer requirements are met while ensuring the overall profitability
  • Manage the security for the facility
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Warehouse operations including outside partners and assist US facilities as required
  • Develop and maintain strong partner relationships
  • Maintain ISO KPI’s to current standards
  • Maintain the AR to acceptable standards
  • Interact with sales team to ensure customer needs are met
  • Provide support and training for staff
  • Travel is required in this role

Qualifications

  • Effective communicator (written and verbal)
  • Effective communicator with all levels of management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed problem solving and decision making skills
  • Organized with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills (proficiency in Excel and Power Point are a must)
  • Ability to create presentations for clients and Senior Mgmt
  • Ability to create budgets and present them to Senior Mgmt
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • High level of Administrative skills
  • Excellent knowledge of warehousing operations
  • Strong understanding of the Transportation industry
  • Well versed in Health & Safety legislation
  • Good understanding of labour laws
  • Ability to understand Financial Statements
  • Strong sales ability
  • Must understand project costing
  • Strong knowledge of ISO
  • Ability to interact with clients (set parameters, negotiate contract renewals)
  • Understanding of Dangerous Goods
  • Recommended 3-5 years of previous operations experience in a fast paced, multi-site 3PL warehouse and transportation environment
