The role requires cooperation with provincial/local police and emergency response services.Note: This role may be assigned to operate equipment for winter or summer road maintenance as needed.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesServe as a primary liaison between provincial/local police, fire services and emergency responders during incident management.Communicate with the Ministry of Transportation Traffic Operations Centre by 2-way radio and telephone to provide incident information and updates.Complete incident reports and coordinate detour routes for asset closures.Conduct follow-up investigations on fatalities to determine if facilities contributed to the accident (e.g., sign postings).Track and maintain files on major incidents involving assets, personnel, and equipment.Assist with third-party claims by gathering documentation.Coordinate special events involving traffic control, detours, and/or closures.Adhere to federal, provincial, and local legal requirements; contribute to a diverse, inclusive and respectful work environment.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to manage workload independently, prioritize and problem solve.Emergency response management principles; strong communication, assessment, follow-through, decision making and independent judgement.Proficient computer skills; strong safety awareness and hazard recognition.Ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions and communicate with coworkers.Ability to wear PPE and operate tools/equipment safely; comply with Ferrovial Service risk, quality, health, safety and environment systems.Drive for zero harm and promote a positive health and safety culture.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma required.Minimum 2+ years of experience in highway maintenance operations, freeway traffic control and incident management.Valid Class DZ driver’s license with a good driving record.OTM BOOK 7 certification required.Working Conditions/Physical DemandsExposure to outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, possible wet/humid conditions, and various occupational hazards.
