Our growth and our entrepreneurial style, niche market position and development opportunities ensure that our people see the results of their commitment reflected in the company’s success.We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team of Surety Claims professionals in our Toronto office.SURETY CLAIMS ANALYSTResponsibilitiesThe Surety Claims Analyst will be responsible for the management of claims within the Surety and Warranty lines of business. With an LL.B from a recognized university and 2+ years of experience specializing in construction law, you will be responsible for all aspects of the claims process including:Coverage evaluationSetting claim reservesReviewing, interpreting, negotiating and drafting agreementsResponding to principals, brokers and claimantsLitigation managementNegotiation of settlementsAuthorizing payments as requiredProviding updates and support to the team of surety underwritersYou will also have the responsibility to investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims directly and in conjunction with internal and external counsel, claims adjusters and consultants.As an integral member of the team, you will bring:Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong critical thinking and analytical capabilitiesForward thinking and collaborative approach to problem solvingSelf-directed work style with the ability to operate in a nimble entrepreneurial environmentA passionate, participative, service-oriented attitudeQualificationsMembership in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario2+ years’ experience in construction law, banking, insurance or litigation experience;Surety experience is a definite asset, as is in-house claims-handlingFully bilingual in French and English an assetIf you are looking for a career in an exciting and rewarding company, are driven to excel, thrive in a team environment and want to contribute to the success of an organization that values your contribution, we would like to hear from youWe are committed to an inclusive and barrier-free workplace that reflects the diversity in each of our offices across Canada.
