Position RequirementsAll teacher-tutors work during after-school and evening hours, Monday to Thursday 3:30pm - 8:00pm. A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.EducationBachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldFourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be consideredTeaching certification an assetGood knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.ExperienceSome experience teaching / tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skillsStrong math skills and ability to guide students’ understandingAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeResponsibilities (Position Details)Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levelsTeaching online and in-personFollowing the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesFilling in post-lesson notesCompleting daily student communication updatesMaintaining a friendly and professional manner at all timesSmiles, High-Fives & Happy Studentsfun staff eventsongoing training opportunitiesfrequent check-ins and feedbackcompany growth opportunitieshands‑on development of your teaching skillsJob Type : Part‑timeSalary : $19 - $20 / hourScheduleEveningsMonday to ThursdayAbout Oxford LearningOxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students get better grades since 1984.
