Power up your career with us About The Role This senior expert role is pivotal in advancing PowerCo’s data-driven and cloud transformation. You will architect and lead Azure-based data and compute platforms that support predictive maintenance, supply chain optimization, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate across PowerCo Canada global teams to deliver scalable, secure, and intelligent solutions that align with our enterprise-wide digital strategy. This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON. Key Responsibilities Azure Architecture & Engineering: Design and implement cloud-native data and infrastructure platforms using Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Power Platform, MS Fabric (Power BI & Copilot), Grafana, and Data Lake Storage to support PowerCo’s data analytics and automation goals. Data Platform Enablement: Drive the development of PowerCo’s Data Discovery Platform, integrating pre-built analytics apps and enabling real‑time data processing across business units. AI & Automation Integration: Infuse AI into business processes using Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Foundry and Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to reduce manual effort and enhance decision‑making. Provide technical leadership for strategic data and cloud infrastructure platform projects, including architectural design and security guidelines, and develop technical architectures and roadmaps for Azure-based data and cloud infrastructure solutions. Ensure scalability, security, and performance of the data platform and collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and other architects to implement robust solutions. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and best practices, serve as the go‑to expert for all data-related and cloud initiatives, including data modeling (using tools like PowerBI), local reporting, and data governance. Develop and manage various types of data models (conceptual, logical, physical) and understand the interplay between them to ensure data integrity and efficiency. Utilize a variety of data modeling tools, languages, and techniques to maintain and improve our data systems. What You Bring To The Team Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of experience in Azure cloud, Databricks and data platform engineering. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark. Experience with Power Platform tools and enterprise-scale data architecture. Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD (Git), and infrastructure‑as‑code. Deep understanding of data modeling and data warehousing. Experience in developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps. Experience working with infrastructure automation using Terraform. Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift). Fluent in English, German is a plus. Desirable Attributes Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly. Experience in multicultural and cross‑functional environments. Passion for continuous learning and innovation in cloud technologies. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate. Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert. Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL‑300).
