Chief Accountant Groupe Hôtelier & Immobilier Tidan Workplace: Le Nouvel Hôtel and Le Mount Stephen Status: Full-time Salary: Starting from $65,000 to $70,000 per year Reporting to the Controller, the Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the complete accounting operations of two establishments. The incumbent ensures the accuracy of financial information and compliance with applicable accounting and tax standards. Responsibilities Review accounts payable and expense entries prepared by the accounting technician, and approve cheques for issuance; Review negotiated contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment; Verify billing between the hotel and its tenants; Validate the posting of daily hotel revenues prepared by the accounting technician; Review customer account opening requests and ensure follow‑up on accounts receivable; Assist the Controller with month‑end closings; Prepare GST, QST, and lodging tax remittances; Record and document journal entries; Reconcile monthly bank accounts (CAD and USD) as well as other balance sheet accounts; Participate in the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Controller and General Manager; Contribute to the preparation of year‑end audit files. Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the hospitality industry; Strong knowledge of current accounting and tax standards; Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments; Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities; High attention to detail and proficiency with numbers and data; Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (Excel, etc.); Knowledge of the hotel industry (an asset); Experience with HOPEM accounting software (an asset). Additional Information Work mode: On‑site position Languages: Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, is required to effectively serve international clients.
