Overview Join to apply for the Speech Language Pathologist - Peace River role at Grande Prairie Public School Division. Peace Collaborative Services (PCS) is seeking a permanent Speech Language Pathologist to join our emerging multi-disciplinary school team. The position is based in Peace River, Alberta, and involves collaboration with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and services for students with visual and/or hearing impairment. Responsibilities Provide individual child services Develop intervention programs, conduct periodic reassessment/evaluation, and adjust as needed Provide direct treatment intervention to specific children Instruct teachers, assistants, volunteers and parents in speech language intervention techniques Participate in case conferences, parent interviews, medical consultations, and clinic programming Research and provide consultation Take a leadership role — oversee program services Supervise para-professional staff and provide programming input for Educational Assistants Provide input into the direction and requirements of the Speech Language Pathology program in various jurisdictions Develop, implement, and evaluate a quality assurance program Provide input into annual operating and capital equipment budgets Provide input into the development and implementation of group programs Attend staff, department and other meetings as required Qualifications You work well independently and can show initiative You are self-motivated, an enthusiastic learner with excellent problem-solving skills Must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) Valid driver’s license (Travel required) Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check Pediatric experience is an asset We Offer Competitive salary ($69,820 - $105,759 based on experience) Full benefits including life, dental, extended healthcare and health spending account Work the school year with school holidays Payment of professional dues Professional liability insurance Reimbursement for moving expenses incurred to relocate for the role (up to $5,000) Your application should include a cover letter, a complete resume, and three references with current contact information.
