Specialist, Development (1-year contract) Join to apply for the Specialist, Development (1-year contract) role at McDonald’s McDonald’s Canada has a one‑year contract opportunity for a Specialist, Development. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Development, you will assist Restaurant Development and various other departments and initiatives by providing analytical insights with advanced spatial and statistical analyses. You will work in tandem with Supervisors, Real Estate across Canada to find the best opportunities for new restaurant development and provide new restaurant sales and impact estimates. The Opportunity McDonald’s Canada has a one‑year contract opportunity for a Specialist, Development. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Development, you will assist Restaurant Development and various other departments and initiatives by providing analytical insights with advanced spatial and statistical analyses. You will work in tandem with Supervisors, Real Estate across Canada to find the best opportunities for new restaurant development and provide new restaurant sales and impact estimates. Duties Supporting new restaurant growth by partnering with Supervisors, Real Estate to complete sales and impact estimates for potential new sites across the country. Close collaboration with teammates to refine and develop new tools and methodologies to improve the accuracy of sales and impact estimation. Assisting in reporting various Restaurant Development and restaurant performance metrics to a variety of audiences. Evaluating sales lifts by partnering with stakeholders to determine expected and observed sales lifts following deployment of new initiatives. Estimating potential sales transfer and sales recapture among our restaurants during any downtime to ensure stakeholders are fully informed. Acting as an internal geospatial consultant, developing a deep understanding of the organization to provide subject matter expertise to internal partners by leveraging census and other georeferenced data to support well‑informed decisions. Qualifications Education: Post‑secondary degree in Geography/GIS (preferred) or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of analytical experience in a business environment (real estate / QSR / retail / banking / insurance) with advanced skills in spatial data analysis, sales forecasting, and reporting. Advanced hands‑on technical skills in GIS, Alteryx, and Excel, as well as proficiency in statistics. Proven ability to build and leverage statistical models and analytical reporting tools to provide data‑driven insights and recommendations. Experience with Smartsheet, SQL, Power BI, and coding is an asset. Communication & Collaboration: Refined consultative approach that engages stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Strong customer focus with keen attention to detail and ability to translate requirements into action. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Ability to present and communicate information and recommendations based on target audience. Innovative problem‑solving: Highly analytical in approach to developing recommendations, collecting, extracting, analyzing, and manipulating large data sets. Ability to learn quickly and apply technical skills to a wide range of business initiatives.
