Company: Finning Canada Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment primarily in the field. Job Description Major Job Functions: Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all heavy duty equipment and/or related equipment in a timely fashion and on customer site. Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications. Perform routine maintenance work. Various related duties as required. Knowledge Understanding of the Caterpillar product line and ability to repair all equipment will be considered an asset. Computer literacy along with an understanding of Finning systems and software programs would be considered assets. Mechanical aptitude with strong knowledge of parts and repairs. Accountability Work as part of a team to meet Finning customer service commitments. Maintain positive relationships with customers and co-workers. Understand and adhere to all Finning policies, including Code of Conduct and Safety. Adhere to Finning expense claim policies and ensure proper management of expenses. Ensure all service documentation and billing is accurate and properly recorded. Maintain and track inventory and tooling within approved inventory levels. Travel to customer facilities and worksite where and when required, communicating field work to Service Supervisor to maximize service hours.
