As part of the Solutions & Technology Group (STG) within Aon Reinsurance, you will report directly to the Director, Consulting. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship.What the Day Will Look LikeDevelopment ServicesBuild and maintain insurance liability models, focusing on reserve and capital calculations for life insurance companies based on relevant regulatory standards, while considering management actionsBuild and maintain financial asset models for use in balance sheet projections of financial services companiesFurther the development of robust processes required for insurance company, such as financial reporting or pricingParticipate in the expansion of PathWise functionality as required or as requested by clientsOnboarding ServicesSupport the development of models and processes for companies transitioning to PathWiseProvide hands-on training for PathWise usersDevelop independent training reference materials for PathWise usersIdentify deficiencies in organizational processes and propose enhancementsResolve issues as they arise during PathWise migrations, ensuring a positive initial user experienceBusiness Development SupportEngage in demonstrations to potential clientsDevelop models specific to client requirementsParticipate in industry, academic and internal research initiativesPrepare and present on emerging topics relevant to the insurance and financial services sectorsParticipate in industry and client conferencesRequired SkillsetOver 7 years of experience in the life insurance sector, specializing in modelling, valuation, consulting or pricing roles, with a focus on financial guarantees embedded in life insurance products, such as participating productsStrong experience in modelling or valuation of life insurance products across various reporting standards, such as IFRS17 and Risk-Based Capital (RBC)Preferred SkillsetProficiency in financial reporting standards within Asia-Pacific region, such as Hong Kong RBC, Singapore RBC, and IFRS17, encompassing insurance products like Participating, Universal Life, Indexed Linked, and Non-participating productsUnderstanding of financial assets including derivativesExperience in models with Monte Carlo simulationKnowledge of object-oriented programming concepts, with a preference for Python programming expertiseFellowship or near fellowship status with the Society of Actuaries, or an equivalent qualificationExcellent communication skills to facilitate extensive team collaboration and client engagementHow We Support Our ColleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
