Senior Facilities Coordinator The Senior Facilities Coordinator has the primary accountability for the maintenance of the Seaspan facilities, which includes general office maintenance, building systems maintenance and repairs, minor repairs, painting, electrical, landscaping, space planning, project oversight, building renovations and office moves. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on‑site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. What You'll Do Troubleshoots all facilities related concerns such as air conditioning, heat, lighting and plumbing problems. Performs regular facility maintenance work such as landscaping, carpet/wall touch up. Conducts daily office troubleshooting such as workstation problems/requests and assists the IT department with phone and computer cabling requests. This includes both hands‑on troubleshooting as well as directing, training and overseeing work done by direct reports. Manages, mentors and develops the Facility and Support teams. Assists in preparing and monitoring the annual facilities operating and capital expenditure budgets. Performs minor repairs and handyman work (e.g., painting, electrical, plumbing, etc.) as required. For major repairs and maintenance work, sources, evaluates and selects appropriate sub‑contractors to perform the work. Also responsible for supervising and approving work completed by sub‑contractors to ensure quality. Manages periodic inspections of building systems, i.e., HVAC, electrical distribution, Fire Alarm and other building systems. Prepares reports of recommended corrective action. Budget input to the Facility Manager covering maintenance requirements for all responsible facilities. Space Planning / Office Renovations Project management for new space constructions and/or renovations. This involves meeting with the project leaders and the responsible Executives, identifying needs and required functionalities/features, preparing design layout/drawings, sourcing, evaluating and selecting appropriate contractors, equipment and furniture, and putting together project proposals that include the construction specifications, costing and completion timelines for approval. Once approval is received, proceeds with the implementation of the construction/renovation. Mobilizes internal resources where possible to complete work. When contractors are involved, coordinates the timing/schedule of different trades to ensure smooth completion of the project. For internal office moves, works with the responsible key contact to ensure a clear understanding of the move objectives, fine‑tune the move plan, discuss implementation tactics (timing, logistics, resources/equipment required, etc.). This role is in charge of the implementation of the move, which includes coordination with the affected parties, determining the best timing to minimize downtime, purchasing/arranging all required logistics (e.g., furniture, workstations, materials, etc.). Other Responsibilities Works in collaboration with the Executive Assistants to plan and organize company and staff events (e.g., family picnic, commissioning’s, retirements, charity events, etc.). This involves assisting in the planning of the event, ordering all required equipment, setting up for the event, and cleaning up. Also sets up rooms for meetings throughout the Pemberton site. Ability to assign and monitor work through an automated work order system. Manages Janitorial contract for majority of the sites, requests special cleanings and handles deficiencies regarding cleaning. Available for after‑hours emergency call‑outs as required. What You'll Bring Completion of Grade 12 education. 4–5 years of experience in Facilities/Project Management. Formal education in managing facilities is an asset (e.g., BOMA). General tradesman knowledge and skills. Knowledge of Seaspan facilities is an advantage. Strong customer service orientation and troubleshooting skills. Must be a creative problem solver. Supervisory skills required. Effective communication and people skills. Flexible, trustworthy and reliable. Strong abilities to prioritize and multi‑task. Computer skills in Word, Excel, and Building Management Systems for HVAC, etc. Ability to lead coordination meetings and actively facilitate progress in order to achieve scheduled goals. Ability to work cooperatively with internal administration groups, and effectively contend with customers and contractors to reach mutually acceptable terms and conditions. The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
