Networking BasicsUnderstanding TCP/IP, DNS, DHCPKnowledge of switches, routers, firewallsFamiliarity with fiber standards (LC, SC, OM3/OM4) and copper (Cat5e/6/6a)3. Operating SystemsBasic Linux administration (CLI confidence)Windows Server basicsBIOS/firmware updates4. Troubleshooting & DiagnosticsIdentifying failing hardwareUsing diagnostic tools (iDRAC, iLO, IPMI)Reading system logs5. Power & CoolingUnderstanding PDUs, UPS systems, breakersMonitoring thermal conditionsKnowledge of hot/cold aisle practices
