Lead a skilled team that works on track construction projects, while driving safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred but 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal. A solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is essential for managing workflows effectively, and candidates with experience in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Mentor an average of 45 direct reports to improve their efficiency and holding accountability when needed Review planned capital work, confirms material, and execution requirements Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for respective track projects Develop and implement work processes and changes with your team that achieve continuous improvement Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general equivalency Valid driver’s license 100% travel (expenses are covered by CPKC), currently on an 7 on, 7 off schedule with a territory that covers Thunder Bay to Mactier and ending in Sudbury Capability to lead a project plan/schedule Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals Proficiency in Microsoft Excel WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER: Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and/or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Performance incentive plan Annual fitness subsidy Part-time studies program PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Medical and Drug Testing This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre‑employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. MANAGEMENT CONDUCTOR PROGRAM: Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
