Women's Heart Health Clinical Research Chair in Cardiology Join to apply for the Women's Heart Health Clinical Research Chair in Cardiology role at Shared Health-Soins Communs. The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba and the St. Boniface Hospital are seeking a clinician-scientist (MD or MD/PhD) to fill the “Heart & Stroke, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, and Research Manitoba Chair in Women’s Clinical Heart Health Research.” The Chair is designed to provide salary or operating funds to pursue independent research in Women’s Heart Health, a priority of the Department and the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences. Research Focus Areas Population health, outcomes research, and health policy Translational research and identification of novel diagnostics or therapeutic targets Fundamental studies in basic cardiovascular biology, including bioinformatics approaches Qualifications Candidates must have a strong track record in cardiovascular research in Women’s Heart Health, evidenced by publications in high‑impact journals and peer‑reviewed funding. Teaching experience, mentoring record, and a commitment to training clinicians and scientists are required. The position is contingent at Assistant, Associate or Professor rank, commencing July 1, 2026 or soon thereafter, for a five‑year term. Salary and rank will depend on qualifications and experience. Cross appointment to a basic science or clinical science department is possible, and restricted clinical activity may be expected, but a minimum of 50% of time must be devoted to research. The role is open to internal and external candidates. Applicants must have Specialty qualifications in Adult Cardiology in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Adult Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. Research plan (maximum 3 pages) outlining an independent, innovative program, potential to attract funding and contribute to student training. Teaching statement (1 page) documenting experience/approach to training and mentoring diverse students and teaching philosophy. Personal statement addressing positionality, commitment and approach to anti‑racism and social justice in teaching, research, and service. Names and contact information of three referees (referees contacted only after written permission). Closing Date March 1, 2026 (open until filled).
