Senior Electronics Buyer

Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia, CA, B4B 1G9 DRS Pivotal Power, Inc. is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Job Summary Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Electronics Buyer is responsible for managing all purchases within their line of business area. The duties may include, but are not limited to, obtaining quotations, evaluating proposals, awarding purchase orders, and expediting the delivery of goods and services. The Senior Buyer will adhere to and train stakeholders in processes and procedures governing financial and supply chain controls. This role is based out of our Bedford, NS office and is an on‑site role. Responsibilities Execute best‑in‑class supply chain concepts in daily work assignments Formulate and execute purchase orders in accordance with system‑driven demand planning and approved requisitions Provide reporting and management of line‑of‑business procurement activities Develop sourcing strategies for total cost of ownership, long‑lead, and volume‑based buying activities Generate RFPs, bids, and sourcing documents related to purchasing supplies, equipment, services, and materials Quote bill‑of‑material lists to support business development Create and execute negotiation plans, negotiate with vendors, and understand commercial contract law Provide expediting reports and strategies to mitigate risk through supply‑chain solutions Resolve quality control and any problematic orders with vendors Organize, chair, and moderate vendor meetings on behalf of the organization, maintaining records for procurement activities Evaluate supplier performance through key performance indicators Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, upholding the company’s ethical code and standards of conduct Provide analytics to support buying activities, including cost and sourcing decisions, leading indicators, activity levels, and project tracking Report cost savings and avoidances or notable supply‑chain achievements Organize and maintain record‑keeping including copies of quotes, proposals, and correspondence Collaborate with team members remotely and in an office environment Multi‑task to manage priorities, multiple assignments, and deadlines Travel as required to vendor locations or Leonardo DRS offices Qualifications Degree, Diploma, or Designation in Supply Chain Management is an asset Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in electronics buying Experience in engineering, defense, or aerospace is an asset Proficiency in an ERP system Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail Team‑player Benefits Motivating team‑based environment where achievements matter Opportunity to participate in the design and development of next‑generation power conversion equipment, using leading‑edge technology Flexible work hours and a compressed work week to promote a healthy work/life balance Industry‑leading wellness program including: Health, dental, and vision coverage available on the first day of hire at no cost to the employee with access to virtual healthcare An exceptional mental health benefit Access to Employee and Family Assistance Program Competitive compensation including: Reimbursement for professional development initiatives and memberships plus access to free online learning resources Registered Retirement Savings Plan with matching company contributions and access to complimentary financial planning Maternity and parental leave top‑up Vacation, personal days, sick leave, and additional company paid days off All applicants must fulfill requirements for Canadian security clearance.
