p>Position Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Nuclear Medicine department.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies. Duties include preparing patients for examination, operating nuclear medicine equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, preparing, dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment, monitoring area utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday / Days - 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00
New Wage: As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is: $36.81/hour

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Assessment and Treatment: Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
  2. Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, and computer communication means.
  3. Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
  4. Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy, and social justice concerns.
  5. Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of EMR, RIS, and Windows based systems.
