At The Ottawa Hospital, we don’t just serve our community, we belong to it.Position InformationTemporary position until January 30, 2027 approximately.Rotation / ShiftsDays and evenings, including weekends, 8‑hour shifts. Must be available for stand‑by and call‑back on evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.Basic RequirementsRegistration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO), and Sonography Canada and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).Experience in Cardiac Imaging.Ability to perform IV set‑up, insertion and medication preparation.Intermediate data entry and advanced medical terminology.Ability to assist in invasive procedures.Knowledge of septic and aseptic techniques.Good knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound equipment both mobile and static.Certification in CPR.Good written, verbal and presentation skills.Sound judgment and problem‑solving abilities.Good interpersonal skills.Must be eligible to work in Canada.Preferred QualificationsExperience in 2D, M‑mode, Color, Flow, Pulsed‑wave and Continuous‑wave Doppler examinations, Stress and Pharmacological Echo studies.Experience in performing Transesophageal echocardiograms and contrast echos.Experience in evaluating and collating exams and providing pertinent patient information to the physician.Ability to use echo analysis software packages to enhance obtained information.Experience in a hospital environment.Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).What You Can Expect From UsThe Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment.
