Role Overview The Field Service Technician position works with authorized dealer branches and farmers/end‑users of Väderstad equipment. The technician assesses equipment performance issues and recommends repairs, maintenance, and actions to achieve desired performance. Responsibilities include carrying out, reporting, and coordinating all Product Quality Campaigns and other factory notices related to service, serving as internal and external resource for service and equipment performance issues, participating in training on new equipment, training dealer maintenance staff, participating in field demonstrations, reviewing warranty claims, identifying trends, and learning internal business programs. High energy and ability to manage highly seasonal customer demands. Strong quality orientation, able to diagnose and correct root causes. Adaptability and flexibility to manage multiple customer requests and multiple products primarily from a service perspective but also from a sales perspective. Good judgment and decision‑making ability, independently. Understanding of the Agricultural industry. Asset – Bilingual French and English – oral and written. Responsibilities Timely response to dealer or customer concerns. Update the Väderstad CRM as necessary. Work closely with the spare parts department and may cover for the after‑sales service manager during absences. Record calls, text messages, emails, and any communication regarding product and customer issues for follow‑up and resolutions. Train dealers and customers on Väderstad products. Product Quality Campaigns or spare parts orders with the internal spare parts department. Manage internal equipment information on the Väderstad database. Interact with customers, services, and staff regarding technical and information requests such as delivery, product requirements, product issue resolution, warranty, and related issues. Responsible for contributing to morale, team spirit, and promoting exceptional relationships with staff and clientele. Coordinate service issues and update internal systems and all concerned internal and external customers to facilitate superior and continuous sales and customer service. Analyze the potential of the Canadian market and determine the value of existing and potential customers for the organization. Help dealers establish relationships with key customers through targeted contact management and on‑site customer visits. Acquire and develop the necessary talents to support the department's goals and objectives with a long‑term growth vision. Meet regularly with territory managers to gather their feedback and market information. Provide thoughtful and timely feedback to internal services on customer/dealer concerns and issues. Resolve product quality and performance issues for end customers and dealers. Complete and manage an annual personal development plan. Training Experience in Agriculture. Able to establish and maintain lasting relationships with company services, key business partners, and end customers. Strong problem identification and resolution skills. Ability to coordinate and organize meetings (in‑person or online), trade shows, training, and other events. Working Conditions Field/Office/Telecommuting. Frequent domestic and international travel (up to 50%). Ability to attend and lead presentations. Manual dexterity required to use maintenance tools, desktop computer, and peripherals.
