Robotics and Controls Support Engineer Promise Robotics is a rapidly growing venture‑backed technology startup. What You’ll Do Ensure continuous production uptime by diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, supporting 12‑hour operational shifts. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair robotic hardware, sensors, drivers, and software. Contribute to the design, development, evaluation, and improvement of robotic manufacturing systems and processes in collaboration with software developers and robotic engineers. Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes, implementing corrective actions that improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Develop, refine, and execute equipment validation protocols, including calibration, unit testing, and incremental improvement verification procedures. Troubleshoot PLCs and robotic systems, including TwinCat and Kuka platforms, supporting automation for wall and floor building processes. Uphold and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Establish and maintain regular communication with the production team and robot cell operators. What You’ll Need to Succeed Bachelor/College degree in Robotics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Strong knowledge and experience in industrial robot programming, PLC/HMI, control panel automation, and electrical standards. Experience working with sensors such as laser profilers, vision systems, and force sensors. Willingness to participate across software and hardware technical areas to solve complex problems and achieve business impact. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organization skills. (Preferred) 3+ years’ experience with automation systems programming and control, including industrial robots. (Preferred) Programming experience in Python, C, C++ or similar language. (Preferred) Experience working with Robot Operating System (ROS). (Preferred) Programming experience in offline robot path planning tools. (Preferred) Experience in integrating KUKA robots. (Preferred) Experience with electrical system design implementation in compliance with electrical standards. (Preferred) Familiarity with residential construction.
