YOUR PROFILE
We are seeking a self-motivated team player who enjoys the challenge of working within the confines of the electric utility rules and regulations, while finding a way to expedite the process of connecting large scale renewable energy projects. p>
- Provide technical guidance to the Development, M&A / Commercial, EPC, and Asset Management teams regarding new and existing project opportunities.
- Interpret market rules as they apply to the interconnection study, construction, and operation of generation projects.
- Review utility studies (feasibility, impact, and facility) and utility expansion plan to identify potential opportunities.
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure all studies and simulations meet the requirements for interconnection.
- Provide assistance during project design and construction for interconnection-related issues.
- Perform site visits and report on issues specific to the interconnection facilities.
- Ensure compliance of self and others on-site during construction with federal, state, and local laws and with Boralex safety and environmental standards, policies, and practices.
- Establish with the independent system operator, transmission provider, and/or local utility the required tests and documentation that are required prior to interconnecting.
YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in power systems engineering in a consulting or utility environment.
- Excellent communications skills, with the ability to provide training on complex operations.
- Ability to travel 5% -15% of the time to domestic and international locations.
- A positive attitude and comfort being flexible, adaptable, and solutions-oriented.
