Survey Technologist

TRS is looking for a Survey Technologist who excels both outdoors and behind the desk. This position combines hands‑on fieldwork with technical office tasks, supporting project delivery through precise data collection, UAV operations, CAD drafting, and administrative coordination. Responsibilities Operate advanced survey instruments such as GPS/GNSS rovers, total stations, terrestrial scanners, and utility locators. Conduct UAV flights (advanced pilot certification is an advantage). Interpret construction and engineering drawings for accurate layout. Gather and validate high‑precision data for design and construction purposes. Perform quality checks on field data before submission. Travel to various project sites, including assignments outside the local area. Maintain strict compliance with safety standards at all times. Prepare layouts, site plans, and survey drawings using Civil 3D and related software. Assist with project tracking and data management processes. Carry out layout and quantity calculations. Coordinate deliverables with project managers and clients. Support GIS workflows and correct spatial data as needed. Manage documentation and administrative tasks to keep projects organized. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Geomatics or a related field. 3–5+ years of experience in the geomatics sector. Proficiency in Civil 3D (required). UAV experience and/or advanced pilot certification (asset). Familiarity with Leica, Autodesk, and MicroStation (asset). Comfortable working at heights and in varying outdoor conditions.
