OverviewPalliative Medicine Physician - Community - Maple Ridge - Ridge Meadows HospitalOur team is looking for a compassionate full-time (1.0 FTE) Palliative Care Physician to provide Most Responsible Provider (MRP) coverage at McKenney Creek Hospice, and consultation services to acute care and community-based patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside other palliative care physicians and a multidisciplinary team within Fraser Health Authority.Fraser Health Authority provides integrated, regional palliative care services across multiple settings, including 30 Palliative Complex Care Unit (PCCU) beds; consult services in 12 acute care sites as well as in the community; and support to 126 hospice beds. The organization also supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in affiliation with the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia.ResponsibilitiesProvide MRP coverage at McKenney Creek Hospice and offer palliative care consult services to acute care and community-based patients.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive palliative care.Contribute to teaching and academic activities related to palliative care within Fraser Health and affiliated institutions.QualificationsCCFP (PC) or FRCPC is required.Eligibility for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.Preference for candidates with additional training in Palliative Medicine: One-year enhanced skills residency with Certificate of Added Competence (CAC) through the College of Family Physicians of Canada.Two-year Royal College subspecialty in Palliative Medicine.FacilityRidge Meadows Hospital — 172 acute care beds. Community hospital providing primary and secondary acute care and a range of specialty services, including 24/7 emergency, ambulatory care, day surgery, general and internal medicine, rehabilitation, maternity, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, critical care, pharmacy, medical imaging, and laboratory services.
