The City of Elliot Lake is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as Manager of Recreation Facilities and Parks Operations. Reporting to the Director of Recreation and Culture, this position oversees the operation, maintenance, and capital planning of the City’s recreation facilities, parks, trails, sports fields, greenspaces, and community amenities.What You Will Be Doing:Lead daily operations and maintenance of all recreation facilities, parks, and open spaces.Supervise staff, contractors, and projects to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.Oversee compliance with safety, accessibility, and legislative standards.Manage budgets, contracts, tenders, and capital improvement projects.Support community events, respond to public inquiries, and promote service excellence.What You Bring to the Table:Post‑secondary education in Recreation Facilities Management, Parks Administration, or a related field.Minimum five (5) years of progressive management experience in recreation and parks operations, preferably in a unionized or municipal setting.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Experience with facility operations, asset management, budgeting, and capital projects.Knowledge of relevant legislation (OHSA, AODA, Building Code, etc.).Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with asset management systems.Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license.Professional certifications (e.g., ORFA, CPSI) or trade experience considered an asset.Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.Why Join Us?At the City of Elliot Lake, you’re not just taking a job—you’re becoming part of a team that shapes the culture and community spirit of our city.
