General SummaryThe IT Manager provides leadership and oversight for all information technology operations at the College of the Muscogee Nation (CMN). This position is responsible for strategic planning, resource management, and ensuring that technology solutions align with the institution’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. The IT Manager supervises all IT staff and serves as the primary liaison between the IT department and college leadership, fostering a secure, efficient, and innovative technology environment that supports students, faculty, and staff.Principal Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe provisions of the following IT Manager duties include, but are not limited to:Develop and implement IT strategic plans that align with CMN’s institutional objectives and future growth.Provide leadership for technology planning, risk management, and budget development.Report regularly to the Director of Business Affairs on IT operations, projects, and challenges.Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption.Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all IT operations and resources, ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable technology services that support CMN’s current and future needs.Supervise, evaluate, and mentor IT team members, including Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, Help Desk Coordinator, Computer Technician, and Institutional Work Studies.Lead IT project management efforts from planning through implementation.Establish IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations.Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of technology equipment and services in compliance with CMN procurement policies.Ensure compliance with FERPA, federal regulations, tribal policies, and cybersecurity standards.Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all critical IT systems.Monitor and assess network security to safeguard institutional data and systems.Coordinate with department heads to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance student learning and operational efficiency.Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and departmental conflicts.Provide guidance and resources to faculty and staff to improve their use of technology in classrooms and offices.Participate in committees and campus initiatives to support cross-departmental collaboration.Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the college.Job SpecificationsMinimum Requirements – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Five (5) or more years of progressive IT experience, including certifications in computer troubleshooting and maintenance, strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network systems, and security protocols. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Requirements – Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience working in a higher education or tribal organization. Ability to speak the Muscogee (Creek) language preferred but not required. Native American and Veteran preference in accordance with CMN policy.
