Program Manager, Distribution Projects – Hammond Power Solutions Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada Hammond Power Solutions Inc. (HPS) is a global manufacturer headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and a leader in North America in the custom design and manufacture of dry‑type transformers. We are looking for a Program Manager to lead large‑scale electrical transformer projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of electrical transformer programs, including planning, execution, delivery and post‑implementation support, and lead a team of project coordinators. Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable project plans. Serve as the lead primary contact for customers throughout the project, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with contractual obligations. Coordinate cross‑functional teams (engineering, procurement, logistics, field services) to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery. Monitor project and team performance, contract commitments, schedules, and report progress to the VP of Sales and other stakeholders. Direct, monitor and provide performance feedback to the engineering team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and customer experience. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with an aim for cost reduction and/or quality improvement (materials, labour, lead time, processes). Support sales efforts by providing technical insights, project timelines, and resource planning during quotation and proposal development. Develop designs and plans and adopt new technologies that reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Qualifications Completed Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering or a related field. Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing, installation, and commissioning; experience leading complex projects within the electrical industry. Familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 14000 / ISO 27001 certifications, lean principles and continuous improvement practices. 6 to 9 years of related work experience. Deep expertise in managing complex projects meeting customer expectations with a strong commercial orientation. Excellent organization, coordination and collaboration skills in planning, prioritization and execution. Ability to analyze, recommend and guide projects to completion. Knowledge of codes, standards and requirements for all markets the company serves; proven experience keeping abreast of regulatory changes. Customer‑ and market‑focused mindset, delivering results while balancing stakeholder interests. Strong judgment, sound reasoning and alignment with the company’s values and vision.
