Large Loss Field Adjuster – Residential Property ClaimsJoin Aviva Canada in this role as a Large Loss Field Adjuster, responsible for investigating, quantifying, analyzing, adjusting, and settling complex residential property claims with losses exceeding $250,000.What You’ll DoEvaluate and manage personal lines complex claims from initial report to final settlement.Conduct thorough investigations, including site inspections and interviews with relevant parties.Assess damages and determine coverage based on policy terms.Collaborate with contractors, engineers and other experts to gather necessary documentation and evidence.Negotiate settlements with customers, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions.Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claims activities while keeping all parties current on claim progress.Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.Provide expert advice and support to policyholders throughout the claims process.Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner including the creation of Critical Path Letters, Proof of Losses, and Reservation of Rights letters, etc.Responsible for data accuracy and issuing payments to vendors, insureds and experts.Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation and risk opportunities.Review case law to determine liability.What You’ll BringThorough knowledge of the property insurance industry.At least 7–10 years of large loss adjusting experience.Solid experience in directly handling complex losses in excess of $250,000.Licenses for New Brunswick, Newfoundland and PEI are preferred (or willing to work towards it).Strong construction knowledge and digital literacy.Strong case law knowledge in both civil code and common law provinces.Thorough knowledge of a variety of property coverage wordings.Some basic accounting skills.Superior communication and negotiation skills.Excellent report writing skills.What You’ll GetThe salary range for this position is $100,000–$125,000; individual salary is determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.Compelling rewards package including base compensation, eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness and volunteer opportunities.Outstanding career development opportunities.We’ll support your professional development education.Competitive vacation package with the option to purchase 5 extra days off per year.Employee‑driven programs focused on gender, LGBTQ+, origins, diversity and inclusion.Corporate wellness programs to support your physical and mental health.Seniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionFinance and SalesIndustryInsuranceAviva Canada has an accommodation process in place to provide accommodations for employees with disabilities.
