Controls PLC Programmer – Automotive We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Programmer with hands‑on experience in automotive automation systems, specifically with Ford controls standards. This role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning PLC‑based control systems for automated manufacturing processes in the automotive sector. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and troubleshoot PLC programs using Allen‑Bradley (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000) and Siemens platforms. Interpret and apply Ford NextGen or Fast standards to meet project requirements. Integrate robotics, HMI interfaces, and vision systems with production line controls. Work with electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and field wiring documentation. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration. Conduct onsite commissioning, debugging, and start‑up support for automotive manufacturing lines. Perform I/O checks, safety checks, and system validation according to Ford specifications. Support change management, system upgrades, and production improvements on existing lines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or PLC Programmer in an automotive manufacturing environment. Direct exposure to Ford standards, such as NextGen, Fast, or equivalent. Proficiency in ladder logic programming, structured text, and HMI configuration. Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems architecture, and robot communication protocols. Familiarity with safety systems, including safety PLCs, E‑Stops, light curtains, and lockout‑tagout procedures. Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and support as needed. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. Preferred Experience Experience with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA). Exposure to SCADA systems, data acquisition, and IIoT technologies. Previous work on body‑in‑white, powertrain, or final assembly lines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
