The role continuously improves quality and safety in all aspects. Reports to the Coordinator, Nutrition Services. The Clinical Dietitian plans, implements, and evaluates medical nutrition therapy for hospital-based and/or facility-based patients according to guidelines established by Nutrition Services. The candidate instructs and counsels patients and families regarding appropriate nutritional requirements, regimes, and food planning and preparation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics/nutrition or equivalent from a recognized university. Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program. Current license as a practicing Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. Eligibility for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC). Preferred experience as a practicing Dietitian. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Skills and Abilities: Establish and maintain effective work relationships with patients, families, the medical team, and community agencies. Coordinate activities and liaise with medical and nursing staff, patients, the food service department, and support agencies. Organize workload, set priorities, and work with minimal supervision.
