Job Details Req ID: 212217 Location: Western Zone, South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada Department: PH School Aged Children & Youth Type of Employment: Temporary, Hourly Full-Time long-assignment (100%) Position: NSGEU Admin Professionals Position Posting Closing Date: 6 Nov 2025 About the Opportunity Reporting to the Public Health Manager, Assistant Manager or Consultant Health Promoter, the Health Promoter works in collaboration with the team and system partners to address local population health needs and to take action to improve population health and reduce health inequities. The Health Promoter collaborates with partners across multiple system levels to create supportive social, economic, and physical environments that protect and promote health. The Health Promoter champions effective health promotion and fosters cooperation, collaboration, and coordination with and between partners. About You Bachelor of Health Promotion (or equivalent) with 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion programs, policies, services, and initiatives. Experience in developing and working with partnerships. Experience in facilitating public participation and community engagement. Demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health and LEADS. Understanding of a population‑based approach. Evidence of success in building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners. Team‑building skills and ability to work cooperatively in a multi‑disciplinary setting with a strong focus on citizen/community. Planning, organizational, and time‑management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities. Understanding of social determinants of health and health equity on population health. Experience with supportive resources such as health impact assessments. Travel required; valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. French preferred as an asset. Hours Long‑assignment full‑time position; 70 hours biweekly. Approximately November 2025 to January 2027. Compensation and Benefits $35.79 - $44.98 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for the benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
