About the role The Quality Assurance team is looking for a skilled Quality Control Technician who will be heavily involved in assessing the quality of incoming materials by assisting in establishing and executing material inspections. This role demands a detail‑oriented individual dedicated to continuous improvement who has experience working within a Quality Management System. We are looking for a talented, hands‑on, self‑driven, motivated individual who demonstrates a desire to improve quality within manufacturing. This role is critical to maintaining the highest level of quality of our products. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, components, and products for defects or deviations from specifications. Verify the accuracy of documentation, including Certificates of Conformance and packing slips. Conduct First Article Inspections. Use precision measuring tools and equipment to perform dimensional and visual inspections. Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, with strict adherence to the Quality Policy and System. Identify and report non‑conforming materials to the appropriate personnel. Assist in maintaining the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment. Collaborate with suppliers, procurement and quality assurance teams to resolve issues related to incoming materials. Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and company procedures. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control processes. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. What You Bring College diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred. 5+ years of experience in quality control or incoming inspection in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Good communication and documentation skills. Proficient with Google Suite, MS Excel, and basic statistical analysis. Assets Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make sound judgments. Physical ability to lift and handle heavy materials, as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods. Visual acuity necessary for detailed inspection work. Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating measurement equipment. Experience with JIRA. Why Nanometrics?
