Network Operations Engineer

Role: Network Operations Engineer Location: Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week) Type: Full-time Summary: This position will provide 3rd level support of the Clients Enterprise Network which includes delivery of services and working with other support teams to meet the enterprise business needs of our customers. This will include troubleshooting incidents, providing escalation support for Level 2 Operations and providing problem resolution. Included also are a varied level of support for the Global Network; Wide Area Network, Metro Area Network and Local Area Network. Support of Firewalls, VPN technologies, SDN technologies, Wireless networks. Responsibilities: Works from established procedures with limited instruction. Assist in the development and enhancement of procedures. Performs moderately difficult assignments, requiring a great deal of originality and problem solving. Working knowledge of project management concepts; able to run small projects. Complies with information security policies. Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. Perform in-depth analysis of packet captures and be able to present findings with recommendations for enhancements or corrections. Configure and Install network equipment on a large scale to support business needs. Requirements: A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Telecommunications technology specializing in data networking. Proven ability to understand and implement complex network patterns using (but not limited to): Cisco ISR/ASR Routers Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches Palo Alto Networks Security Appliances, Network Templates SDN technology – Cisco ACI, Silver Peak Wireless technologies Proven ability to understand and decode network traces and capture files. Proven ability to quickly understand customer problems and how they relate to network/security infrastructure. Proven ability to decode existing Python programs and Ansible Automation. Proven ability to navigate and understand AWS and Azure cloud environments. A four year computer science or related technical degree or equivalent work experience. Located in Montreal for hybrid work model.
