About the Role Full‑time Instrumentation and Controls Engineer I or II at our Sandow Water Treatment Plant in Lexington, TX. You will ensure the secure and reliable operation of advanced process control systems that power essential water and wastewater facilities. What You’ll Do Provide day‑to‑day support for operations personnel to ensure process control systems meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably. Lead the design, review, and implementation of process control systems. Oversee and coordinate contractor installations of process control equipment; manage occasional contractor projects, including scoping and bidding. Identify and purchase equipment needed for ongoing process control system maintenance and improvement projects. Collaborate with the Instrumentation & Controls team to develop and implement company standards and industry best practices. What You Bring Two years of experience with design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of process control systems. Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information, or equivalent experience. Experience programming and configuring PLCs and HMIs with minimal assistance. Understanding of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, or command line applications such as Telnet. Comfortable working on electrical systems, reading schematics, and using multimeters and process meters. Cybersecurity knowledge, including familiarity with firewalls and network segmentation concepts such as DMZ (plus). Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs is preferred. Experience providing field support and using data communication networks such as Ethernet/IP or radio telemetry is a plus. Why EPCOR?
