Student Support Consultant Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent full‑time Student Support Consultant. The assignment can be located on any campus depending on the resident location of the successful candidate and will commence on November 3, 2025 or an agreed date. Core Competencies Accountability Communication Adaptability Teamwork Leading Others & Change Primary Responsibilities Academics Instructional Leadership and Student Learning Apply in-depth knowledge of the Saskatchewan curriculum to guide instruction and assessment with focus on students requiring additional or intensive supports. Provide guidance training and mentorship to teachers and Student Support Teachers in differentiated instruction Adaptive Dimension strategies and inclusive programming. Support the creation and implementation of personalized learning programs adaptations and Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIPs) in collaboration with students families and educational teams. Build staff capacity to administer and interpret screeners and diagnostic assessments and using results to inform instruction and intervention. Promote effective documentation on student goals strategies and interventions to ensure planning monitoring and consistent implementation. Leadership System‑Level Leadership and Process Development Identify and lead the development of new or revised Student Support Department processes and protocols (e.g. caseload assignments instructional practices intervention documentation). Draft trial and refine department processes in collaboration with the Superintendent of Student Supports Campus Administrators SSTs OEAs and other Student Support Professionals ensuring alignment with Ministry expectations and Sask DLC priorities. Facilitate the communication of new or revised department processes clearly to staff and support consistent implementation across campuses. Collect and analyze feedback on departmental procedures to ensure effectiveness consistency and equity of service across all campuses. Monitor implementation of processes across campuses and report on success challenges and systemic issues to the Superintendent of Student Supports. Identify barriers or gaps that impact the effectiveness of Student Support services and collaborate on solutions. Ensure that departmental processes and procedures reflect evidence‑based practice provincial policy and collective agreement requirements. Mentorship and Support of Student Support Staff Provide system‑level training and mentorship for Online Educational Assistants (OEAs) and Student Support Teachers (SSTs) including orientation expectations departmental procedures and professional learning. Support SSTs in developing OEAs specific instructional and role‑related skills. Offer input and support to Campus Principals and SSTs regarding the effective organization and use of OEAs and provide coaching and feedback for OEA performance improvement when needed. Mentor SSTs in caseload management intervention planning and professional growth. Collaborate with Campus Administrators to ensure alignment between student needs intervention planning and instructional supports and contribute to SST Professional Growth Plans and reflective practices that enhance service delivery. Collaborative Teams Collaborate with Campus Administrators SSTs and families to identify students requiring additional supports and to develop implement and monitor Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIPs) Collaborate with other disciplines on the Student Support Services Team to provide comprehensive services to students. Collaborate with Sask DLCs Senior Indigenous Advisor for understanding of First Nations and Métis cultural perspectives and awareness. Act as a liaison between the school and external organizations and community‑based resources. Ensure that services and interventions are appropriately coordinated to benefit the students academic and social success. Support smooth student transitions by collaborating with SSTs Campus Administrators families and external partners to ensure continuity of supports and services. Provide regular updates to the Superintendent of Student Supports regarding trends and emerging needs in caseloads of students requiring additional and / or intensive supports. Professional Development Stay current with research and best practices in inclusive education special education and student support. Build staff capacity through effective professional development strategies including modelling mentoring coaching resource sharing and facilitation of learning sessions. Culture Foster an inclusive respectful and engaging online learning environment that promotes student participation engagement and success. Mentor and guide Student Support Teachers in leading parent meetings particularly those focused on inclusion intervention and educational planning for students with diverse needs. Knowledge Skills Abilities Strong instructional leadership skills with the ability to mentor coach and build capacity in staff. Deep understanding of inclusive education differentiated instruction and intervention planning for diverse learners including those with intensive needs. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced online environment. Ability to design implement and evaluate system‑level processes and procedures that ensure consistency equity and alignment with organizational priorities. Skilled in maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive student and staff information with integrity. Proficiency with digital platforms for communication planning and documentation (e.g. Microsoft MS Teams Clevr). Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students families colleagues and external partners. Commitment to professional growth reflective practice and evidence‑based decision making. Ability to foster cross‑campus collaboration and problem‑solving within a distance / online learning environment. Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Education (.) and valid teaching certificate with SPTRB and STF membership. Experience in inclusive education including differentiated instruction intervention planning and supporting diverse learners with intensive needs. Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and coaching teaching and support staff preferably within an online / distance learning environment. Masters degree in Education or related field (preferred). Employment Conditions Office environment / setting. Typical core office hours (8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.) Monday to Friday. Travel as required.
