The role is based at Youville Home in St. Albert, a compassionate continuing care community offering a full spectrum of services. Description The Health Care Aide (HCA) provides basic nursing care to residents, assists with activities of daily living, and performs other duties required to meet their personal needs. The HCA maintains and promotes safety, comfort, privacy, dignity, and independence for residents, ensuring a welcoming and aesthetic environment, in line with Covenant Health’s policies and procedures. This position is covered by the USW Collective Agreement. Responsibilities Provide basic nursing and personal care to patients and residents. Assist with activities of daily living. Promote safety, comfort, privacy, dignity and independence. Maintain an aesthetic environment and perform duties in accordance with established standards. Essential Qualifications Active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Physical ability to assist with all aspects of resident care and transport, including walking, standing, bending and lifting. Ability to understand written and verbal directions in English. Proof of active enrolment on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory, or be in progress if considered. Students in an approved Alberta nursing program who have completed a continuing care or medicine unit placement and Year 1 of a practical nursing program or Year 2 of a baccalaureate or psychiatric nursing program and have knowledge and experience with medication assistance.
