Overview NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. For this post you will work 12‑hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Care Nurse to develop and utilise existing clinical, leadership and management skills within a Charge Nurse post within Critical Care, Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Responsibilities Support the Senior Charge Nurse by managing the Critical Care nursing team, including assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation. Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team in supervising, training and education in conjunction with our dedicated Clinical Educator. Exercise effective management of the nursing team, optimising the use of human resources, absence management and rostering to reflect activity requirements. Ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance the patient’s experience of care. Qualifications Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ expert experience within a Critical Care environment. Strong leadership skills and experience in the field of Critical Care nursing. Commitment to patient‑centred care, continuing professional development and an understanding of our service.
