Inside Technical Sales Specialist

Mission of the Role ***This position will work out of our SICK, Richmond Hill office. This position will provide technical quoting assistance to our direct and indirect (channel) sales teams utilizing their product and application knowledge for the Automotive, CPG (Consumer Packaging Goods), Machines & Motion and Electronics industries. The Inside Technical Sales Specialist will also receive requests for services and solutions and will provide the Lifetime Services and the Customer Project Management (Pre-Sales) teams with a completed package of information so that sales can receive the appropriate quotation response in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities Provide technical quotation support for all Regional Account Managers and SICK Channel Partners predominantly within the Automotive, CPG, Machines & Motion, and Electronics industries. Receive phone calls and emails from end users, channel partners and Regional Account Managers regarding technical product selection based on application requirements. Provide all required data for the Lifetime Services team to schedule a service technician as requested. Provide all required data to the Customer Project Management (Pre-Sales) team within Canada and the United States to receive a quotation for solutions in a timely manner and within the scope requested. Support customer and tradeshow activity. Help manage demo hardware inventory for SICK Canada. Utilize the Global Quoting Tool for all quotations and to support Pricing Excellence, while following the Delegation of Authority (DOA) process. Support cross-selling across all SICK products, services and solutions. Regularly attended team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications Experience: 0-2 years of experience. Education: Minimum 2-year technical degree. Position-specific Qualifications: Understanding of business processes, good communication skills, superior telephone techniques and excellent people management skills required. Timely, polite, sincere, dedicated, accurate, resourceful, diligent, positive and calm under pressure. Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office, email applications and ability to develop skills in ERP, CRM and website navigation. SAP experience, an asset. Able to work as a team to solve problems and create strategic plans through shared knowledge. Must be flexible, resilient, and open to change. A self-starter with strong motivation and desire for continuous learning and improvement. Possess general knowledge of software applications and technologies within automation. Computer/Technological: Professional competence with Microsoft Office, previous SAP or other ERP or CRM Systems is an asset. Language: Professional written and spoken fluency in English required. Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday, full time; be on-call on some weekends (if required). General Working Conditions: Be able to usually work in an office environment. Travel: Be able to travel up to 10% of the time, including internationally; must have a valid passport. Physical Demands: Computer monitor more than 4 hours a day. Work Status: Legally permitted to work in Canada. Must have a valid Canadian Drivers License. Compensation The base salary is one part of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below; the actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, licenses/certifications, business needs and other job-related factors, as permitted by law. Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $51,670 - $76,725 Bonus Eligibility: This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company and individual performance.
