Title: Intermediate Geotechnical EngineerEmployer: Higher Ground Consulting, an Englobe company (HGC)Job DetailsHigher Ground Consulting seeks an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our successful geotechnical engineering practice working throughout the lifecycle of projects from initiation to design to construction. The role offers a fast‑paced environment with multiple projects within a growing team across Oil & Gas, Mining, Renewable Energy, Rail, Water Resources, and Municipal sectors.ResponsibilitiesPlan and oversee geotechnical site investigations and monitoring installations, managing staff, subconsultants, and subcontractorsConduct site inspections and coordinate complex site investigations on client sitesManage projects from planning, initiation, coordination, execution, to close‑outLead geotechnical design and analysis (soil & rock engineering, soil dynamics, slope stability, deep & shallow foundations)Lead reporting and technical writingMentor junior engineers and EITsProvide technical support for soil testing completed by othersProvide technical and commercial input on proposalsDevelop relationships with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and key stakeholdersNecessary QualificationsDegree in civil, geotechnical, or geological engineeringRegistered as a P.Eng. in CanadaExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsComputer and software skills (GeoStudio, LPile, APile, Settle3D, GIS Mapping Software, OpenGround/Holebase SI)Willing to travel to remote sites as required on a project basisValid driver’s license and legal entitlement to work in CanadaAt least 6 years of geotechnical engineering experienceAssets (Considered an Asset)Graduate degree in Geotechnical EngineeringExposure to large civil earthworks construction projectsExperience with design, construction, operation, and inspection of damsFlexible and open to changing priorities and multi‑taskingPrevious experience working in geotechnical consultancyBusiness development experienceAdditional InformationLocation: Calgary, ABWork location: On siteSalary: $100,000 to $145,000 annuallyTerms of employment: Full timeStarts as soon as possibleBenefitsOpportunities for Growth: Support for new ideas and business opportunitiesCareer Development: Performance management, feedback programs, open‑door policy, mentorship, and active feedback loops #J-18808-Ljbffr
