Overview We are seeking a candidate to lead a talented team building and developing the software stack for AMD Instinct Accelerators and Radeon PRO, supporting HPC, AI/Machine Learning, Cloud Gaming, and Workstation applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience guiding and mentoring developers through technical challenges. This role requires close collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure AMD’s GPU solutions remain industry-leading. The Role We’re a growing team powering the graphic processing units (GPUs) of Cloud Service Providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, etc. As cloud computing sets the tone in the new generation of technology, we work to enable AI, High Performance Compute (HPC), cloud gaming and other creative uses of GPUs. The Person The ideal candidate will have multiple years of industry experience and strong technical and analytical skills in kernel-mode software development. Experience in contributing and participating in the Open Source (Linux Kernel) community is ideal. Key Responsibilities Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ programming and software design, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design. Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate effectively on complex projects. Skilled in developing software for Linux, Windows, and/or VMware environments. Experience with Confidential Compute is considered a plus. Preferred Experience & Skills Strong object-oriented programming background with demonstrated proficiency in C/C++, software design, debugging, performance analysis, and test design. Skilled in developing and debugging kernel-mode device driver software for Linux, Windows, and/or VMware environments. Proven participation and contribution in the Linux Kernel Open Source community. Familiarity with operating system development and software development processes/tools such as debuggers, source control systems (GitHub), and profilers. Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate effectively on complex projects; strong communication and problem-solving skills. Highly motivated, self-starter with good interpersonal skills and keen attention to detail; ability to write high-quality code and documentation. Interest in emerging technologies such as AI, containers, and Confidential Compute.
